The last week

What a crazy summer taking three classes and learning I new job I found it flying by. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the different tools and the opportunities they provided to enrich the students lives. This year my position will be increasing as we bring in the higher grades into our school. I think there are some tools here that will help me in preparing and teaching these older students.

All these great ideas

Between this class and my other class addressing technology in the classroom I"m really excited to go back to school and incorporate all these ideas and tools back into my classes. Our school is going to be including the higher elementary grades so we will be incorporating a whole knew curriculum and the sources are going to come in real handy.

Distant ed tools

I have to admit in the beginning I wasn't sure some of these sources were very educational. But with each presentation I have learned what great sources they can be. I'm excited to see what kinds of uses I can find for them.

The wonders of technology

Oh the wonders of technology, I was able to camping and still stay up on home work. I just downloaded and stored the workshops and handouts on my laptop and took a few minutes away from the fun and excitement of camping and watched these informative tapes on distance Ed tools. I did have to come back and access these tools and explore them after, but I was familiar with both beforehand.

With each knew tool we learn, I think wow what great potential this tool has. Everyone of these sites or programs have great potential in teaching students and incorporating technology and their motivation and interest to learn. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of these programs

This week I'm going out of town and internet range. I'm a little worried about keeping up with my classes. I have been working feverishly to get a little ahead.

The workshops are very helpful in finding new tools. Some I have know quite well, but others are brand knew. There are many exciting tools to help with education in general and distance education specifically.

Wimba

Well after last weeks presentations I can see I could have used more knowledge of how wimba works in recording a workshop or class. I think my could have been a little better if I had understood some ins and outs in wimba.

E-Learning

E-learning
The reading for this week left me feeling over whelmed. There was lots of evidence of how e-learning courses are created without the learner in mind. These courses have a long way to go, but not a lot of help in creating them in away that would be engaging and learner motivating. The study conducted by Martens et al left us with the knowledge that more study is needed, but with no real solutions. It mostly indicated more study is needed to create student motivating courses.
The seven steps for better e-learning was the most helpful. It provided some insightful ideas that are necessary. I do think more insight in to how to accomplish those tasks would be helpful.

I thought I had my mini-workshop all done, but then I listen to it and oops the audio for some pre-recorder portions was not audible. So I rerecorded it and I now had all the audio, but I think the presentation was better the first time, because I was so stressed out. First I forgot to put lock the talk button so it stayed on. Then I forgot to share my screen. And I had a meeting one hour from when I started again. Yes I was late.

Mini Workshop

I have just recorded my mini workshop. I have to say it made me quite nervous and I made a few mistakes. The least of which was not the phone ringing in the middle of it. Next time, if there ever is one. I'm turning off the phone.
